Beef with Red Wine Mushroom Sauce

This easy mushroom sauce is excellent with steak or roast beef. Serve over hot cooked egg noodles and garnish if desired.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound sliced beefsteak
  • 1 tablespoon corn oil
  • ¼ cup onion
  • ½ cup sliced button or baby Bella mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup red wine
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 Better Than Gravy Brown Gravy Mix

Instructions

  • 1. Heat and brown 1 pound sliced beefsteak with 1 Tablespoon corn oil in a skillet. Cover to keep hot and set aside.
  • 2. Sauté ¼ cup onion and ½ cup sliced button or baby Bella mushrooms in a skillet with 1 tablespoon butter until tender.
  • 3. Add 1 cup red wine, ½ cup water, and 1 package of Better Than Gravy Brown Gravy Mix and bring to a boil. Continue cooking until sauce is thickened.
  • 4. Add browned beefsteak to sauce.
  • 5. Serve over cooked egg noodles.
